I'm a blogger now

Actually, at the beginning of this course I felt a bit dubious, but then I’ve been thinking that internet have completely restructured our society and we are living in an information age; this means that culture and knowledge are easily accessible. People should have to develop their internet skills in order to be always updated on everything they want..

Blogosphere for me is quite new, but it’s time for me to experience it.. Over this two weeks I have realised that the medium of blogging is all about dialogue with readers.
A stimulating aspect of this course is the kind of English we are going to face; over the last years, at the University, we have often focused on formal English, sometimes too academic. Every time I was in contact with mother-tongue English speakers, I realised that English can be even more colloquial, informal and let me say “more relaxing”. Therefore, this year we will approach an every day spoken English, using difficult phrasal verbs and at least recognising idiomatic expressions.

I can say that I’m looking forward to developing my personal blog, reconciling English language and Web World. I hope to improve both my skills.

Hi Elisa,
I agree with you when you say that nowadays it is very important to be able to communicate through the computer and to be aware of the technology, in general.
I must admit that I don't like to spend hours in front of my pc but, unfortuntely, the society we live in often asks us to do also that.
Blogosphere is something new also for me but I think that it can be very intersting and exciting to have a private blog where you can write whatever you want. Furthermore, as you say, the blog gives us the chance to improve our second language not only focusing on the formal and academic side of it but also on the more informal one.
In the end I think that to have a blog is a good way to improve our interaction with others, not simply by using words but also by the mean of technology.

I just want to correct some of your mistakes:

-the word internet must be written with the capital letter.
-you must use the "has" with "restructured" because it is reffered to a singular noun.
-should develop instead of "should have to" because it means the correct procedure to follow.
-realised must be written with "z"
-maybe the position of the elements in the phrase: Blogospher for me is quite new, should be changed as Blogosphere is quite new, for me.
-over these two weeks, instead of "this", because your reference is plural "weeks".
-recgnising, must be written with "z".

By the way, I just want you to know that I really like the picture you posted and that your blog looks nice.

Bye
Mony

Hi Ely!
Like you, at the beginning I felt a little lost… I mean, I wasn’t able to post my photo, it seems to me that I hadn’t time enough to complete the task…And when we had to surf in Technorati to found two blogs of our interest, I really spent a lot of time searching them. In conclusion, everything seemed to me difficult and I think it is due to the fact that in the previous English courses we weren’t used to search for information on the Internet and to use pc. But as you said, now Internet is a part of our life and an useful way to be informed in the topic we want. Using blogs, I think we’ll develop our informal and colloquial English in a relaxing and funny way! In our blogs is also important the interaction: reading the posts of our peers, comment them and then reading their comments to our work.
As regards the mistakes, Mony has just corrected them.
I liked the photo you’ve posted. Finally, I was able to see it!
Bye, see you on Monday!
Vale

Hi Elisa!
I do really agree with you! Your considerations about the importance of computers and informatics in our society are so true! During the last lesson we spoke about culture, and what does culture mean to us, do you remember? Well, I think that the fact that we are all facing problems using computers and developing blogs is a matter of culture. I guess that in the States, as well as in other European countries, computers are deep-rooted in the society and all the people understands the importance of the informatics means also because the authorities support the use of computer with their policies. But in Italy we are not so “advanced”…We are working on it and it’s going to take some time to reach this goal! Not all the people already have their computer or laptop, and what about the internet connections? We are in the right direction, but it’s going to be a long process!!
